Acetylene is the The colorless, odorless and tasteless gas but commercial grades usually have a marked odor due to impurities. It is extremely combustible, and produces a very hot flame (over 3000 °C or 5400 °F) when mixed with oxygen thus making it a suitable application to be used in a number of industries.
